A79 team searched for the comet several days and after the observations made by LINEAR project the object was detected on 16/07/2007 at about 1.8 degree from the predicted position. We measured a coma diameter about 25 arc sec and total magnitude 16.0R (see IAUC 8856).Second observations were performed on the next night and more precise magnitude was obtained (15.8R). After announce in IAUC the comet was designed as a P/2007 N2 and officially will become a 189 periodic comet (189P) soon. On 20 July P/2002 O5 passed very near to the comet C/2005 L3. We were not able to observe the closest approach and the picture below is an animation from 23h04m to 23h32m (UT). It is a stack of 4 images, each with 39 sec integration.
