A79 team recovered this comet on 11/01/2007 as a diffuse object at 16.1R magnitude and coma diameter of about 0.2 arc min (IAUC 8795, see results). We obtained only a stack of 3 twenty-nine 10-second exposures due to the bad meteorological conditions and low comet altitude. On 13/01/2007 we confirmed the object. Comet P/2001 Petriew was temporary designed as a P/2007 A3 and than numbered as 185P. In the middle of February, 185P become a visual objected at about 11.5 magnitude.
